It converts the rotational torque output from the gearbox into traction force for forward or backward movement by meshing with the pins (tooth rails) of the face scraper conveyor through tooth grooves. This assembly typically includes forged/cast sprockets, a drive shaft, heavy-duty bearings, multi-channel seals, lubrication nozzles, and mounting flanges or hubs. It is a ready-to-use modular functional unit that directly determines the smoothness, reliability, and climbing ability of the coal mining machine’s traction.

Technical Features and Advantages

Superior Wear Resistance of Sprocket Teeth: The sprocket teeth are made of special alloy steel (such as 42CrMo) through integral forging or precision casting. The tooth surface and root are treated with medium-frequency quenching or flame quenching, achieving a surface hardness of HRC 50-55 and a depth of 3-5mm. The wear life is more than twice that of ordinary materials.

Integrated Sealing Design: Equipped with a combination of labyrinth seals and heavy-duty lip seals, and pre-filled with long-lasting grease, effectively preventing impurities such as coal slurry and water from entering the bearing cavity, adapting to extremely harsh underground working conditions.

High-Load Bearing Unit: Built-in large-tapered tapered roller bearings or self-aligning roller bearings, capable of simultaneously withstanding enormous radial and axial thrust, ensuring stable sprocket operation under off-center load conditions.

Overall Balance and Precision: The assembly undergoes dynamic balancing before leaving the factory, ensuring high-precision coaxiality between the sprocket tooth profile and the mounting reference surface, reducing operational vibration and protecting downstream transmission components.
